CALL Community Partners
Collaboration mutually beneficial relationships and a fantastic support network are key to the work that we do developing community literacy through one-on-one interactions, supporting local businesses and organizations, and developing our CALL Community Literacy Center network in Central Indiana. CALL Partners with Community Businesses and Not-For-Profits all across Central Indiana on a wide range of projects and priorities to further the organization and work toward the public good. Center of Wellness for Urban Women
Center of Wellness for Urban Women (CWUW) empowers women and their families living in urban communities to take action in their health and well-being through education, advocacy, prevention and care. A wide variety of programs and services in the seven dimensions of wellness- physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, intellectual, occupational and social- provide avenues for women to create a culture of wellness for themselves and their families.

CWUW also offers both internships and careers available to urban women to support them as they develop their careers in areas that can contribute to the wellness of their neighbors.

Neighborhood Food Champions

Since its creation in 2017, the Neighborhood Food Champions program continues to support empowered community residents working to address food access in their neighborhoods. Each “Champion” receives comprehensive training and mentorship, to develop a sustainable community project, as well as a project award.

In Mayor Joe Hogsett 2019 State of the City address, he announced the City’s intent to fund this round of Neighborhood Food Champions. In July, the City-County Council approved funding for the program with bipartisan support. Marion County residents 16 years and older looking for the opportunity to create a better local food system are encouraged to apply!

Vonna Got Cakes centers Indianapolis Far East Side residents and other Indy residents with dietary restrictions. The Learning Tree and The Root
The Learning Tree is an association of neighbors that specializes in Asset Based Community Development, learning and education that improves the quality of lives of people, communities, schools and businesses.That is what we’re about. We help gather people and listen to each other. We listen and share life stories. We dare to see the abundance of gifts and talents in “irrelevant” places where there appears to be “nothing.” Using the teachings of what is called Asset-based Community Development, we identify and invest in the individuals, organizations and communities to see, invest in and celebrate the abundance in neighborhoods.

The Learning Tree is located in the Near Northwest Neighborhood of Indianapolis.
